Environmental, social, and governance aspect - Quality Education

Challenge

A tradition of giving Christmas presents to your clients is meant to be a symbolic gesture of gratitude. However, non-edible gifts often create a short-term impression and eventually end up in the trash, regardless of how creative they are. This results in waste and negative environmental impact. To address this, we aimed to create a meaningful initiative that would have lasting value for both our clients and the environment.

Solution

As Children agency, we used the gift budget to start a project to help children in need gain confidence and become masters of their life. The focus was on teenagers in day care centers who often lack adult support to recognize their strengths and make important life decisions, like choosing a career path. Professional educator and mentor Daiva Koponen helped them explore their potential and improve self-belief. This support led some teenagers to pursue professional studies after school instead of immediately seeking jobs.

By giving up their annual presents, our clients became supporters of this project. The gift of confidence for children, in return, gifted our clients a greater sense of purpose than regular Christmas presents.
